Bangor’s commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Columbanus is celebrated every November in Bangor. We open with the now-traditional Journey of a Single Day. Full details of the events will be available in mid-October.

From Bangor to Bobbio (Saint Columbanus)

Friends of Columbanus Bangor Secretary, Brian Wilson & his wife Anne have just completed the journey from Bangor to Bobbio travelled by Columbanus more than 1400 years ago. They went by Interrail taking 41 trains and completed the journey in 15 days compared to over 20 years taken by Columbanus. They record the main places visited by Columbanus and where he established monasteries. St Columb, Luxeuil, Bregenz, St Gallen, Milan, & Bobbio.
