Columban Charter of Partnership

On Friday 24 March 2023, FoCB Committee members launched the Columban Charter of Partnership at Bangor City Hall (Bangor Castle).  The Charter is a declaration of intent to support and promote pilgrimage, cultural and scientific activities relating to Columbanus and Gall in all the regions and countries where their memory remains alive.  In particular, it is a declaration to support the development of the Columban Way across Ireland and Europe.

Each country is collecting signatures in their respective regions and these will be taken to the official launch in St Gallen, Switzerland on 7 July. We have pledged to gather 500 signatures from the island of Ireland.

The link below will allow you to download a PDF of the Charter and a blank signatory form.

Anyone who wishes can can drop into the North Down Museum at Bangor Castle or one of the Visitor Information Centres in Bangor or Newtownards and sign the Charter as an individual.
