CW Walk for Peace, Healing and Wellbeing – Day minus 1

Good Luck

On the penultimate eve of the FIRST planned Columbanus Walk on the island of Ireland, I wanted to wish key walkers the very best of luck on your epic Columbanus journey.

Heather Hamilton, Director Bangor and North Down Samaritans; Deborah Girvan, Chairwoman FoCB; Charlie Reid, FoCB Walk Co-ordinator; and Brigid Watson, Secretary FoCB

I have been working on the European Columban Way project for seven years and am so excited, and proud,  that such a small team, by working together north and south of the border, have managed to produce such an incredible and interesting pilgrim walk in Ireland in  a very short space of time.

The best part for me is meeting  kindred spirits such as yourselves who have inspired and motivated  me to  keep going despite many set backs.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in Co Carlow this weekend and welcoming you to Bangor on 21 September after walking  361 miles!

I look forward to receiving daily (short) reports and photographs which we will post up on FoCB website.

Bon voyage!

With best wishes

Deborah Girvan

Chairwoman Friends of Columbanus Bangor
